Day Two

I wake up to Jananne whispering, girls, it 9:15!!!! Oh wow! After getting ready for the day, we had breakfast OUTSIDE!!! It was brilliantly sunny and almost balmy. We walked our last blocks of Kinsale and waved goodbye to the harbor. (I have already purchased a pair of boots…they were deeply discounted!)

The hour drive to Killarney yielded mist-covered craggy, rocky mountains. Not to mention, super windy narrow curves. We noticed half-way into the curves, an obscure sign announcing the “dangerous curves ahead”.  (Maybe all the previous ones weren’t dangerous enough to warrant a sign) Another driving adventure involved Jananne unknowingly blowing by a granny in the very large “break-down lane”. Having said that, Brooke and I comment regularly on our thankfulness for her driving! We love our very-capable chauffer! Regardless of where we sit in the car, we all take careful diligence in turning. :)

The round-a-bouts in this country can prove troublesome for us…on our way to Killarney we somehow missed the town on a bypass. But, as they say here, “no bother”…a very friendly utility worker directed us aright. Killarney had tons of little shops and fabulous food. We walked around, shopped, and ate! :)

The day went in too quickly and it was time to find a B&B, which proved slightly troublesome. We finally decided the Dromhall Hotel was our best option. Our room even boasts a hairdryer!!! This morning, we learned the hard way that hairdryers blow converters. We are (almost) tucked in for the night. Off to see the Ring of Kerry in the morning and to kiss the Blarney Stone!!
